Welcome to Basel Dads. As a first step I think we need organise our first social event and what could be better than a trip to the boozer.
I hereby propose the following:

Hi Guys,
I don’t know if you know this, but there is a Hauseman group in Basel. It runs every Wednesday at lunch at Zic Zac’s. This group has been around for sometime I believe over 7 years with over 30 members. Out of this group there are outings such as hikes, boozer’s, gatherings and events of all sorts ..sports etc. We also have a Yahoo group.
Please feel free to stop by Zic Zac’s or even better there is an event tonite at Paddy’s which some of us are getting together for a few drinks and watch rugby tonite.
Hope so see you there…may even see you guys at Lowenzorn on 21st.
I forgot the to mention most have children of all ages..new borns to teens. Or even no kids at all. Once again feel free to stop by.

Thanks for the info. Do you have a link to the Yahoo group? I will post it on the blogroll here.
I read the info about the Hauseman group on the BaselExpat group, and as I work in Zürich, lunch at the Zic Zac is not really do-able for me – hence I thought something that concentrates on evening and weekend events might be worth a go.
I won’t make it to Paddy’s as I already have other plans but I will be sure to look in on the Yahoo group in future.

I intend to organise one shortly, to the Creux du Van, which has become an annual event – this will be the fourth time in as many years.

Hi Nick,
This group sounds like a great idea and can comfortably live along side the Basel Hausmann group (after all, it isn’t every man who is lucky enough to be a houseman!!!). Unfortunately, I can’t make it to the first session. But I’ll keep my eye on forthcoming events

Just wanted to offer my support for this endeavour. I have been over here a month and a half, and whilst I have been directed by friends on the EF to the Basel Hauemann group, I have not been able to make a meet.
I look forward to catching up at the Löwenzorn on Friday.
